We who have kids love our kids. Those who have grandchildren love their grands. However, the same stimuli that confronts our youth confronts us, the adults. The same messages that put importance in things is being sent to the parents and grandparents. When a child is blessed to have many toys, what the child experiences is what we adults may experience in the cereal aisle of the grocery store. We stare at the abundant amount of choices. Sometimes we stare for more time than we would like to admit before we finally decide on one. What usually happens is a couple of times of that and we have found our go-to cereal. We see this with children. They have their go-to toy and the rest sit and gather dust. What the child really wants is your time, but your time is taken up with organizing or stressing or maybe even dusting off these toys.

“What the child really wants is your time…”

Also this room was yearning for was a family to use it. This living room used to look like it was a giant playground. The client had visions of guests gathering in this space and their children playing around them. Reduction in the amount of toys, and creating designated areas for the toys and books, and increasing the adult space, we created an actual Living and Breathing room.
